Supergoods x WOW Colours: Inspriration for Cloud Dancer, colour of the year 2026
The leading international colour authority Pantone published the colour of the year last week. For the year 2026 it has become a small scale scandal as Pantone presented a soft white colour named 'Cloud Dancer' as the inspirational colour for next year, as white is seen as very neutral, or even not a colour at all. You may not agree with Pantone on their choice for next year, but let's look into what you can do with this colour in your wardrobe.
Cloud dancer is a light, soft and quite neutral colour, which is quite versatile. This calm companion gives the spotlight to strong accents or creates subtle combinations with deeper neutral colours. We went to look for inspiration with Anne, from WOW colours studio, on how to combine the cloud dancer white.
CLOUD DANCER x PASTEL LAVENDEL
You can combine cloud dancer white with any pastel and create a light and often soft combination. Cloud dancer is softer than pure white and suits softer skintones better.

2. CLOUD DANCER x RED
Cloud dancer is a great partner for brighter colours too. This way you can make quiet but outspoken combinations. White gives the bright colours extra space to shine compared to darker neutrals.

3. CLOUD DANCER x CARAMEL
Cloud dancer is a relatively neutral tone between cool and warm colours. Here we jump to the warm spectrum and combine cloud dancer with brown, cognac, caramel and orange red.

4. CLOUD DANCER x BLUE
Cloud dancer with blue results in a calm combination of two neutral colours. With some cobalt blue we can add some extra brightness. The contrast between the two colours is high and the combination is quite fresh and interesting. A softer alternative to classic black and pure white!

5. CLOUD DANCER x BEIGE
Cloud dancer and beige or taupe make a calm and soft combination. With this combo you can even add an extra accent colour in your accessories, with for example a scarf or a beanie.

Whatever you think of Pantone's choice as colour of the year 2026, it does have a very welcome calmness, it offers a lot of versatility and it suits almost all of us!
