Privacy policy

----- last update: 25 May 2018 -----

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from www.supergoods.be (the “Site”), and the Supergoods stores.

In general, we are a business specialised in fair products and practices, so naturally we take your privacy very seriously.

We do collect information when you visit our website and when you order. But we never give your data to third parties that are not directly related to giving you a fair and customer-friendly shopping experience at Supergoods, ecological wherever possible. We never sell or trade your data and have taken proper measures to protect your information. Only upon consent, we will send you our two-weekly newsletter.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, automatically certain information will be collected for statistical means and safety precautions about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, statistical information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site will be collected. We refer to this automatically-collected statistical and safety information as “Device Information”.

Device Information is being collected using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you in order to be able to give you customer service, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information”.

When you buy something in the shops, we will ask if you prefer to receive a digital receipt of your purchase, in order to save paper. In order to do that, we will ask for your name and email address. There is no problem if you do not want to share your email address with us. Basically, this is also Order Information.

We do not purchase any marketing data or marketing lists or offline data.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations) or, in a more limited manner, in the shops. Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
- Communicate with you;
- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
- When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information relating to our products or services. Only upon consent we will send you our two-weekly newsletter.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our mailing campaigns).

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. We only work with unsuspicious third parties with a solid privacy policy, with a devotion to give us (and not anybody else) the opportunity to give you a fair user and customer experience. For example, we use Shopify to power our online store--you can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy. We also use RePack reusable packaging for your online purchases, and in order to be able to reward you for returning your packaging to them, they will receive your email adress -- they also have a strict privacy policy, which you can find below -- We use Kudobuzz to give you the option to give feedback to our company, service and products -- their privacy policy is available here: https://kudobuzz.com/privacy-policy/
