Welcome new neutral colours: brown, burgundy, white, greens
Autumn is a great time for a closet check-up. It is also the season for deeper, more neutral colours that can fit seamlessly into your wardrobe all year round — especially if you make thoughtful choices when shopping. In this blog post, I highlight four key neutral colours from the Autumn collections. You don’t need to follow the trend colours, but if you’re looking for any of these shades and want to invest in pieces you’ll love for a long time, this is your chance.
ALL BROWN EVERYTHING
Brown has been ruling the fashion world for a few years now. It may have something to do with our need to find safety and peace in a world that seems increasingly unstable and divided. But whatever the reason, brown is a great colour — especially when you find your favourite or most flattering shades.
There are so many different variations of brown: beige, cinnamon, cognac, walnut, medium browns and very dark chocolate brown, almost as deep as black.

FALL IN LOVE WITH BURGUNDY
Burgundy is a classic Autumn colour. Technically, it is a deep red shade that can be either warm or cool, depending on how much blue or yellow it contains. This Autumn, we’re also seeing burgundy in softer, washed-down tones — ideal if you love lighter or mistier colours.
You can really use burgundy as a neutral colour. There’s everything from tops and jackets to shoes and accessories available in this versatile shade. It’s easy to combine with other colours and neutrals, or with other shades of red, such as pinks and pure reds.
Red is also the colour of passion, love and romance — so if you’re looking for something to wear on a special date, make it red!

GREENS RULE THIS AUTUMN
Green is a calming natural colour, and we see it everywhere, both outside and indoors. It can actually make a beautiful neutral colour, ranging from light sage to deeper olive or forest green.
Pay attention to the different shades of green: if khaki doesn’t suit you, a more bluish forest green might. Deeper or softer greens work particularly well as neutrals. Leave bright grass greens or mint greens for fun accents.
